Sad

Her 
word was that she would come.
I might not have understood her correctly
but her
word was that she would come!
I didn't even know I was waiting
until I noticed I expected 
her every time
the door opened and a voice sounded,
every time not her's.
And when 
I had told myself already
that someone who hadn't come yet
wouldn't come,
I was still waiting,
so stupid,
days later
I'm still sad.

A friend offers his help

When I spoke of my messy inheritance
my friend offered his help
which I gladly accepted.
And I did the planning, booking two rooms and
- most of all -
didn't ask anyone else, 
until, 
in the nick of time,
he told me, by the way,
that I couldn't demand 
that much work for no payment,
that I should have known that and,
after all,
I was inheriting, wasn't I?
And when I then most unpleasantly felt
forced to remind him 
of the lengthy favours I'd previously done him,
I found
that he'd hardly noticed 
any of those.

Women and dogs

I love her, she loves me
She is angry at me for loving me
I'm angry at her for not loving me
I get a dog
It acts as though it loved me
I love the dog
The dog is me 
I don't love me
I have no control over the dog
Nosing around it thinks only of itself
It is using me!
I make it obey but
a slave cannot love me
I get rid of the dog
She doesn't love me
