The lying Fly 

A lie, a lie is like a fly
buzzing around my head,
it sits on me, it stares at me,
I recognize it not,
yet feel a deep necessity
to swat it and be rid,
but flying lies are nebulae,
so near and yet so far,
they cannot just be brutalized,
but must be understood:
a lie, a lie is like a web
as smooth as possible
as near to truth, as traitorous 
convincing, pious, safe.
I cannot even help myself,
it stabs my back,
it paints me black,
I must believe in it.
Today I kill whatever fly
dares to sit on me
pursuing it relentlessly
throughout the living room.
A living lie will never die,
the fly, the fly is 
me.

und
die meinungsherde
schließt meinungen aus
und
das ameisenspiel
setzt sich aus ameisen zusammen
und die
tiermengen versteinern
zu meinem diamantstaublabyrinth

The bright appraisers

On a hot day four men came into my house,
jeering at my new carpet in the hall, chucklingly
trampling up the rickety staircase, disdainfully 
walking over the great room, ticking off  "high 
ceilings which we don't need", boredly staring 
around the attic (later in their report declaring 
the entirely unexamined roofing beyond repair), 
not even bothering to enter my pretty room;
good-humoredly stepping out the front door, 
explaining they would, graciously, not subtract 
demolition cost from plot value because
that would leave me with a negative number, 
responding to my dumbfounded query whether 
they had, then, found the whole structure to be 
unsound with, amidst laughter, the hilarious 
statement that "we can't look into the walls!"
